In the last several years, emerging managers have begun to change the face of the investment landscape across Europe.

Why? Because the case for raising a first-time fund – or spinning out of a larger fund – is stronger than ever. Studies show that when emerging managers have a focused and niche investment strategy, they can easily outperform more established fund managers.

At Emergent, we see the value in supporting this trend for the future of private capital. It’s our core belief that community plays a pivotal role in the success of emerging managers – both now and in the future. As highlighted by the Funds Europe Emerging Managers Survey in 2022, getting off to a good start and growing your fund strategically is pivotal when navigating the complexities of the investment landscape.

That’s why we’ve created a platform that brings together emerging managers from various backgrounds, including those who are raising a first or second institutional fund, spinning out, diversifying away from the core or representing minority and female-led funds.

In whichever way suits you best, we invite you to get to know us, connect with us and our community, and learn more. Meanwhile, here’s a short introduction to our vision.

We bring together key leaders and advisors who can offer support and perspective at the right time.

A place to meet and connect

As professionals with vast experience in the world of private investment, we understand that setting up, launching and nurturing a fund requires significant time and energy. Emergent aims to make it easier for emerging managers to connect and grow through their network.

We bring together key leaders and advisors who can offer support and perspective at the right time. We encourage our members (no matter how experienced) to share their stories and learnings with each other – whether that’s in-person at our events as a participant or speaker, via our podcast, through interviews or with article submissions.

Emergent meets you where you are, offering extensive knowledge, expert advice and community perspectives to help you grow a successful institutional fund.

A place to share knowledge

Although many of our members have significant experience raising funds, we realize that everyone who joins us comes from varying investment backgrounds. Emergent meets you where you are, offering extensive knowledge, expert advice and community perspectives to help you grow a successful institutional fund.

Through our events series, newsletter, podcasts, ever-expanding content database and growing community, we offer information including but not limited to:

  • Keys to success (e.g. team, strategy, investors, pipeline, infrastructure)
  • Fund establishment (e.g. structure, domicile, economic viability)
  • Fundraising and marketing (e.g. regulations, pitching, ESG, PR)
  • Investments (e.g. due diligence, ESG, structuring, valuation)
  • Distribution and liquidation
  • Outsourcing of fund administration

Joining us at Emergent means you will also learn from those who have many funds under their belts, as well as from newcomers who have found success in their own ways.

Not only do we aim to create an informative and inspiring hub for first and second-time fund managers, but we also want to help change the conversation around diversity and inclusion in private capital.

Study after study shows that minority and female-led funds are underrepresented, undersupported and underfunded.

A place to change the conversation

Not only do we aim to create an informative and inspiring hub for first and second-time fund managers, but we also want to help change the conversation around diversity and inclusion in private capital.

Study after study shows that minority and female-led funds are underrepresented, undersupported and underfunded. Through both themed events and community, Emergent sparks thought-provoking conversation, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for these valuable groups.

While we understand that transforming the numbers in our ecosystem is a process that requires long-term dedication, we celebrate incremental improvement each month by taking into account the feedback of our community after every event we host. Emergent is, above all, fueled by the stories and voices of our members.

Advisory and guidance, networking and introductions, how-to’s, stories and perspectives and fund outsourcing support are just a few of the benefits of stepping into our vibrant community.

A place to grow your emerging fund

Whether you’re taking your first leap into setting up a fund, or already taking an established firm into its second, third or fourth fund, we know you’ll find value in the Emergent community.

Advisory and guidance, networking and introductions, how-to’s, stories and perspectives and fund outsourcing support are just a few of the benefits of stepping into our vibrant community. We can’t wait to hear your story and empower you as part of the next generation of fund managers.

Emergent attendees were treated to a personal video message from the man himself ‘Gordon Ramsay’ following the event at the Lucky Cat.
